Local Ride Racing’s Steve, along with Local Ride Elite Women’s MTB Team sister Sandra will begin their quest for the BC Bike Race leader’s jersey on Sunday, June 28 as they take on Stage 1 of the seven-day race. With Steve’s herculean calves (easily taking up one third of his 150lb total mass) and Sandra’s “great personality,” this duo will be hard to beat. Follow them online as they thread their way along some of the world’s best mountain bike trails wearing the Local Ride colours. Enthusiastically supported by Team Manager Barry (all he requires in return is beer) in his trusty big white van, assisted by the beautiful and talented Jean Ann “Animal” McKirdy, what could go wrong? As long as there’s sweet singletrack, a massage table, cold brew, espresso, and dark chocolate, it’ll be all good.
