McBeth Wins Tour de Delta Crit

Roy McBeth bided his time and conserved his energy last Saturday. Roy rode unlike himself letting prime after prime go to other rides and then timed his sprint perfectly to take the win. (Roy wants to especially thank Ann for all her support). Steve rode hard and battled flu symptoms and was still at the front of the peloton for laps. Mike was the third musketeer and rode hard hanging in with the Cat 3’s for the whole race and finishing in the top 20. Look for Mike and Steve at the upcoming Tour de White Rock crit, which happens to have a hill to suit both these riders.

In mountain biking news Steve and Barry finished in the top third of the men’s open category at the seven day BC Bike Race from Victoria to Whistler. The grueling stage race tested some of the best riders in the world and Barry and Steve rode hard and put in a solid effort over the whole course. They also won the most beer consumed award (unofficially).

Ryan is lighting the mountains on fire right now, at the Burnaby Mountain XC on the weekend he was fifth after battling up Cardiac Hill a lung busting three times! Ryan is currently 3rd in the series overall and looking to move up.

The Giant/Whistler/Local Ride Women’s team is making their presence felt during Super Week, with podiums at eh Tour de Delta and narrowly missing out at Gastown after controlling much of the race.

Local Ride Racing will be out in full force this weekend at the Tour de White Rock Criterium, with a guest appearance from Nels in the brick and blue.
