This week we’re featuring the Shimano cold/wet weather off-road shoes on sale at ’08 pricing. This is the perfect footwear for surviving West Coast winters on a bicycle. They have a full grain leather high-top design that covers ankles, and protects feet from debris and keeps them warm. The Gore-Tex Dual Thermal liners keep water out, and still allows feet to breathe. Always thinking, the designers at Shimano had these babies built wider to fit thicker socks. They also include a water sealing neoprene booty. – $314.95

Local Ride Racing Sponsorship Opportunity
The Local Ride Racing Team (LRR), fresh off a successful 2008 racing season, are seeking sponsors as they plan their leap to the next level of competitive cycling in 2009. Since the team’s debut in 2006, the squad’s racers have achieved a high profile in the community and on the race circuit. The roster has expanded to include an elite women’s road team headed by Laura Brown, current National Team Pursuit Champion and Canadian record holder on the track. These inspiring women will be competitive at BC Cups and leading cycling events throughout North America. Supporting these local teams is a great marketing opportunity for businesses in the community, as the enthusiastic and dedicated team members will be sure to showcase your business at the province’s premier cycling events, including the Tour de Gastown, which attracted nearly 40,000 spectators in 2008. To request a sponsorship package or for more information, please contact Barry Lyster at Local Ride Bike Shop. Click here to visit the Local Ride Racing team web page here.
