Big congrats to the Local Ride Mountain Bike Crew who dominated their respective categories at this weekend’s BC Cup cross country race at Mount Washington. Jean Ann McKirdy won the pro/elite women’s category in her first race back after her mid season injury. Ryan Newsome also won his race against the other 30-39 master men. In doing so he tightened his grasp on 2nd place overall in the BC Cup series and moved himself into position to grab the lead in BC Cup #7 at Sun Peaks. And finally to complete Local Ride’s gold medal haul, Chelsea Bilsbarrow competing in the expert women’s category made it 3 for 3 winning her race.

While on the topic of congratulations, we can not forget to mention Laura Brown, who scored a bronze medal at the Pan Am games in the team Pursuit. While doing this she also managed to win the BC Cup Road series as the other racers were too far behind to catch the absent rider in the fifth and final race in Sidney.
